Helping Your Employees Plan for retirement

At P.L.A.N. we understand that every company is unique. We partner with you, the Plan Sponsor to help you meet your fiduciary duty by defining your retirement plan’s objectives and creating an employee advice program that will help your employees successfully plan for retirement.

Employer Preparedness

The P.L.A.N. process that is developed for your company can help manage the fiduciary liabilities that employers are faced with today.

As you may know, both you and your business may be liable under ERISA law if your employees fail to properly manage their investments within their company provided retirement plan. But under a new federal law, there are steps you can take that may help manage your fiduciary liability to some extent.

These new laws provide protections for employers who arrange to offer 401(k) advice to their employees, provided they prudently choose a qualified fiduciary adviser to do the job. That change is part of the Pension Protection Act of 2006.

We will work with you to further your fiduciary and retirement plan knowledge, and build educational and advice programs for your employees.

Our Core Plan Level Services Include:

  • Investment Due Diligence Analysis
  • Investment Policy Statement Review
  • Vendor Searches and Fee Benchmarking
  • Plan Design and Annual Fiduciary Review
  • 404(c) and 404(a) Fiduciary Guidance: 401(k) Safe Harbor

Employee Preparedness

Beyond Education: Although education is important, it often is not enough. Many retirement plan participants have received no advice beyond a general educational seminar on how to structure their retirement plan portfolio and often as a result, they do nothing.

Today, participants are faced with challenging markets and too many choices making it increasingly difficult to understand the value of their employee benefit plan. Often, this can leave them unable to make sound financial decisions that will help themselves and their family.

We will work with employees within every level of the organization to develop and maintain a personal financial plan that evolves with them through the various stages of their life.

Our Core Employee Services Include:

  • Group Meetings: Annually, Semi-Annually, Quarterly
  • Financial Triage: Risk Profile and Goal Setting Session
  • One-on-one Investment Advice Strategies
  • 401(k)/403(b) Investment Management
  • Employee Hotline
  • Annual Reviews
  • Coordination of Budgeting and Credit Counseling Services
